This is about as far from traffic jams as you can get. At 06.30h not even a dog is about. Yes it does get busier, sometimes it can take half-an-hour to get from one end of the street to the other. The difference is that what takes the time is stopping to talk to people, to discuss the day or the previous night or what the diving has been like! Here you have time to unwind. |

Here is a pumpboat - the almost universal means of navigating the coastal waters of the Philippines. Notice the outriggers that give the boat stability and make them good diving platforms.
This boat is called Bagyo and belongs to Neptune Diving Unlimited, is 18m long, has an 185hp marinised diesel engine and a small enclosed cabin. She can carry 15-20 divers on a daily dive trip to one of the local dive sites or 8-10 divers on overnight trips to destinations further afield. |

This is part of the view from Cakes and Connections balcony. In the background is Pescador Island, the main dive site for the area - sheer walls down to 45m surrounded by a beautiful coral shelf at snorkelling depth. You can see the House Reef that starts just beyond the pumpboat where the water turns dark blue. |

The universal stroll out to the dive boat - try not to trample coral on the way. There is a surprising amount of life even a stone's throw offshore. Pescador Island is a 10-15 minute boat ride away |

Pacita's have comfortable cottages in a tropical garden, surrounded
by bougainvillaea plants. The sea comes lapping at the wall slightly to the
right of the photograph and the resort has its own small beach. |

Jochen at Last Filling Station organises a beach volleyball competition most weeks. The competition is intense but since Dondon, Petito and Cecila who play for Visaya Divers are really really good, they usually win. Come and help the rest of the Beach to even the odds a little! |
