The room will be cleaned "sometimes", which if you're lucky means every day, if not maybe every week and if not it's DIY! You will not find cheap rooms generally advertised on the Internet . . . you'll have to walk round yourself and talk to people. Or if you are planning an extended visit, ask the staff of your dive shop since they will certainly know someone with a cheap room or cottage for rent. Standards (and prices) have risen dramatically in the last few years - the days of P20 a night are long gone!

for this price range you will get a well-built, stone or solid cottage with reasonable furnishings, air-con, hot & cold water, bedding changed frequently and fresh towel daily or whenever you need. You should also get a pleasant environment without much noise. Most rooms in Moalboal now fall into this category; Moalboal is no longer a backpackers hangout :(
