Hello Moalboal friends!!!!!!
Life here on the beach is still wonderful.
I just came back from a one-week bike trip to Negros,
the Island east of Cebu. Mike (old Hot Shot owner),
Jörgen (ex Saavedra Instructor) and Steve (boyfriend
of Marife, Nelson secretary) and I had a really good
time there trying to climb Canlaon the volcano by
motorcycle and chasing steam locomotives. Nice roads
people and views.
I seldom or never get any tips how to make this
newsletter better, but now it finally happened. So now
I will try to explain a little bit more about some of
the people I write about with a ( ). I hope
explanations like the ones above will do the trick.
Thank you Jutta (friend of Hannah) and Hannah (owner
Hannah’s restaurant)
WEATHER:
Finally 29 degrees, sunshine and blue skies every day.
You should come and visit.
ACTIVITIES:
The soccer games on Mondays and Fridays are still on.
Last Sunday the Panagsama homeboys went to Barilli for
a game against the local Philippinos there. We won 7-3
with Oliver (Italian, tattoo artist) scoring the most
goals (3)
Sunday BBQ, beer and bolleyball (3b) is still on every
Sunday at White beach.
The Moalboal church that will turn 150 years old in
April will be torn down. They will leave the front and
rebuild the rest. The roof is about to fall in and
some people might take that as a bad omen from GOD.
BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:
Eugene (English, fourth year here, hangs at Nelsons)
and Claire (babe) had a one hell of a wedding party at
Eve’s kiosk. 70 cases of beer!?!, Mayors and more
other politicians than you could shake a stick at.
Really nice band. Greg (Dude, Instructor Visaya, been
here so long that we are thinking about making a
statue of him) and Joris (Nice punk rocker, Neptune)
really made the band swing. I got thrown into the pool
a thousand times and had a bruised chest, hit my ear,
band-aids in 6 different places and a chipped tooth to
prove that I had a good time. Congratulations to the
both of you.
Herman (German, DM at Sub Maldives) and Bibi just had
their son Matthew delivered. He’s even got blue eyes.
Honda (Japanese, Instructor at Nelsons, have manage to
loose 4 cell phones) just got married also. We are
waiting for him to show us his new wife.
Coma (Japanese ex manager at Globe) is now engaged to
Marisa.
WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS:
Kalle (Saavedra divers owner) managed to ride on one.
This together with divers seeing whale sharks on two
other occasions proves that Moalboal is a year around
Whale shark spotting place now days. For those of you
that have not been to Moalboal for a while: now days
you are almost guaranteed to see turtles at Tongo,
Talisay and Kasai wall.
LETTERS FROM ABROAD:
Hoi Lars: Get off your sorry drunken bum and write the
next newsletter. It's the first week of Feb. and I
still don't have my gossip from Panagsama to enjoy and
reminisce over! What sort of service do you call
this????? With best and anxious regards to you and
Chicago, Simon (in a warm and sunny Switzerland).
You are right Simon, there’s just too much going on at
the moment. I even have a student now. That makes two
already for this year, puuii sweaty.
