Moalboal December 2001

Hello People!!

Here are a few more lines from paradise. High season
is just about to kick in and we are all looking
forward to see some old and new faces on the beach

Interesting to know for some of you that are golfers.
There is a quality golf course only 30 minutes away
from Moalboal. The kewl thing is that if you become a
member, 20 000 pesos year, 2 persons can stay at the
golf course 18 nights for free, free green fee and
equipment

WEATHER:
Typhoon Ning-Ning (of all names) and after her
typhoon Neneng gave us over 48 hours of constant hard
rain. The wind was not that bad but there was a lot of
landslides in Cebu. As far as I know; no one in
Moalboal had any problem

ACTIVITIES:
Soccer has now started. If you want to join us, just
show up outside the post office 16:30 every Monday and
Friday.
Some of us had a nice Sunday BBQ at white beach.
Volley ball and beer. There's not enough ppl to start
something organized so just bring your own food and
join in.

BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:
Nicks Cuban wife, Darjeeling just finished her
Instructors course. Congratulations, now all you need
is a bunch of Spanish students.
Roland brought back a really nice video film that he
made at Marc and Jesfils wedding. YES Simon, we all
saw you and Pierre do .........THAT. :)
Yesterday and today they installed phone booths on the
beach. One by the mini mart across from the new abyss
dive shop and one across from Bull Dog. It's really
weird to see brand spanking new phone booths on the
beach, it's a bit like "paradise lost". International
calls are 40 cents US$/min

WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS:
November 18th Joris saw a whale shark. A few days
before that, fishermen saw whale shark 3 days in a
row. If you want to see them you should be outside
Cabana pier around seven in the morning

ARRIVING/ARRIVED:
Eugene just arrived with his future wife, Clair. The
wedding will be sometime in January.
Jack says that he will come before Christmas. I?m sure
Wilma and Kris will be happy to see him.
Chikako will be back from Japan in a week or two. I
know who's going to be happy to see her.

LETTERS FROM ABROAD:

THE DEEP THOUGHT:

ACCORDING TO NELSON (our inside man into politics
here):

YA GOTTO LOVE THIS COUNTRY!
I told my carpenter that I wanted all the screws, in
the shelf he was making, to all be in line. The groves
in the screws to all be horizontal. He looks at me
with a puzzled face and asks "Why?" Hahahaha try to
come up with a good answer to that one
