Moalboal 2004

Hi, friends of Moalboal!!

This is Jochen from Planet Action writing the news letter fro this
month. Lars (publisher of the Moalboal Newsletter) passed by and asked me
if I would like to write the next issue of the Newsletter. I
agreed. unfortunately, because it's harder than I thought and, I have
to admit, I am not such a skilled writer like Lars is, my talents are
more outdoors (... at least, some).

August happened quite a good month for business so it kept me busy
climbing waterfalls. It's nice to see many people coming back in summer time
again, the last couple of years it was really quiet. This is despite the bad
weather we had, with plenty of rain and huge waves. But now the sun
is out again and everybody is happy again.

ACTIVITIES:

a.. Every Monday and Friday:
- Soccer / Football: As always everybody is welcome to join our
football matches twice a week. We are short of players. Don't hesitate to
join, it's a lot of fun and the rewards are plentiful (San Miguel Beer)

a.. Every Sunday
- White Beach Party: Just a reminder - on Sunday lots of
people meet in White Beach for sunbathing, barbecue and beach volleyball. Join
our volleyball team - the rewards are plentiful (San Miguel Beer. does
this sound sounds familiar?).

- Cock fighting: Some people like to visit the local cockfight
pitch. Even if you lose - the rewards are plentiful (San Miguel
Beer. no, we don't get paid by San Miguel corporation - its part of our tropical
life style).

a.. Fiesta - Alcantara has a fiesta going on. Kalle (owner of the
Photo Shop in Moalboal) has seen the pics of all the beauties his
photographers took from the babes there - and he says they are hot hot hot. Look
for some pics in the community board inside the Chili Bar (sorry, no telephone
numbers).

BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:

a.. Last Sunday Greg (Amerian, former dive instructor, now teacher
in Cebu City) was back in Moalboal and went wind surfing. His board broke
behind Pescador Island and he needed 6 hours of paddling to get back to
shore (actually a fisherman found him). This man is like a cat, he's got 7
lives (at least).

ARRIVING / ARRIVED:

a.. Frank (German, partner of Thorsten, the two owners of the Lipay-
Lipay Bar) arrived a month ago and is staying for good. The Lipay-Lipay
Bar serves breakfast (the only one in Moalboal with Croissants) and is also
open for drinks until late night. Frank is a former cook and creates yummy
cakes and cookies for the afternoon coffee break.
b.. Guenter (German, owner of the Balay Bar) is back on the beach.
He put in a nice billiard table in his bar and you can play pool with a
nice sea view now.
c.. Simon (English, underwater photographer) is back at the beach
for a couple of weeks. He produced the Moalboal Underwater CD available at
Abyss Dive Center.

YA GOTTO LOVE THIS COUNTRY!

In the Philippines adultery is a crime punishable by law. Basically
it says that

a.. If the husband can prove that his wife has a boyfriend she can
go to jail for 6 years.
b.. If the wife can prove that her husband supports a mistress
financially, he can be jailed for 4 years.
That's called the "anti-mistress law " - no joke.
