Moalboal October 2001

Hello People!!

Here comes some more gossip and news from paradise.

WEATHER:
About 29 degrees, sunshine and blue skies every day. You should come
and visit.

ACTIVITIES:
The buoy project has purchased more rubber rope and have made spliced
pick up lines. Now there is also a mailing list for people that are
interested in the buoy project. If you would like to receive buoy
news, just send me e-mail and I will include you.

I think we should all have a ¡°before high season motorcycle trip¡± November
15¡¯Th. Buy rent or steal something with two wheels and an engine and join us.
By then Andre¡¯ should be back, he can lead the troops. Max 50 km/h so even jack
and Jesper can borrow their ladies dream machines and join. Toledo maybe !?!

BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:
Marius, Mark and Ai-Ai¡¯s son is now properly baptized. First church
and then a nice party at Nelsons. Gilda sure has party organizing
down to the T after all parties at Nelson¡¯s this year.
Marco has been spotted at Taboo two Saturdays in a row. One time he
was without Mary-Lou for 15 minutes. Yep, things are changing.
Oliver won first and second prize on the Stockholm International
tattoo convention. Congratulations dong. Now the tattoo on my leg
must be worth a fortune, hahaha
There is now a moneychanger in Moalboal. They take travelers checks,
the rate is about 10% less than what you would get in Cebu city.
Last Sunday Nelson launched his third boat, Hurricane. She looks OK.
Now he really has a fleet of boats.

ARRIVING:
Mike, Minang and Emeli are arriving next weekend. They are planning
to stay here for good.

WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS:
Two weeks ago a bunch of kids was chased out of the water by a BIG
fish. Before that Savedra saw whale shark August 26 and 28.Nelson's
saw one on the house reef Aug 16.
If you have seen a whale shark, please send me e-mail and I¡¯ll
include it in the letter. Savedra has a sign over their latest
sightings where you all can take a look.
Chicago saw a seahorse under Cabana pier. There is a lot of cool
stuff on the house reef; you just need to be patient.

YA GOTTO LOVE THIS COUNTRY!
They are trying to make a law that Taxi drivers should have at least
100 pesos (2US$) worth of change. The taxi drivers are fighting
bitterly against that and say that that is too much.

GENERAL:

If anyone has any information that they think would be interesting
for people on this list, please do let me know and I will add it in.

Best regards,

Lars Starner.
