Hello People!!
It’s news time again!
Most of us are still here and we have actually seen a
lot of new faces on the beach. It seems like people
have forgotten about last year’s atrocities and now
wants to travel again.
Chikako and I are going to Europe this coming May. My
small house is up for rent then. 6000 peso month,
50m2, tiled floor, fridge, gas stove, shower, a nice
porch and 60 meters from the ocean, in a quiet area of
Panagsama. Minimum rental time is 4 month.
WEATHER:
Believe it or not but we had a typhoon here a couple
of weeks ago. It was not on Cebu but we did get strong
winds and rain. That typhoon must have been a bit
confused because in general the last typhoon should
have been in December / January.
Anyhow it’s now getting to the point now that I’m
really happy that I installed a fan over my toilet
bowl. No more sweat dripping when I’m doing my
kalibang. So yes, it’s getting warm here. About 30
degrees in the morning and 32 daytime. The water is 27
and I hope it will soon reach 28, which for me is the
ideal diving temp.
ACTIVITIES:
The soccer games on Mondays and Fridays are still on
There is also Sunday White beach BBQ, beer and
volleyball

had their son Matthew baptized and that they threw a
nice party with whole roasted pig
ARRIVING / ARRIVED:
Anders Pålsson (dives with Nelsons) arrived with 12
kilos of Swedish food. On Påsk afton we had a really
nice meal with lots of egg, caviar, sill and
surströmming!?!!. So for those of you coming back to
the beach, REMEMBER: always bring some food from home
to all the starving ex pats here. Do not forget to
bring a newspaper either.
LETTERS FROM ABROAD:
Heberer, Ulrich writes: If you know Juergen Emmerich
(is the friend of rowena), it's a good friend of me,
send him greetings.
If you think it is appropriate and there might be
enough people there
who remember John and I - like Jorgen, Greg, Ling
Ling, Do Do, Elvie and her family at Love's,
Josephine, Mona, Delores - please let them know that I
(Kathy) will have hip replacement surgery on April
9th. They will replace my femur bone with titanium
and chromium BUT the doctor says "diving will be no
problem". Tell DoDo I might even be able to carry my
own tanks again!
WELL DODO, YOU BETTER HOPE THE OPERATION WILL BE
SUCCESSFUL, OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO CARRY KATHY AS
WELL, hehehe
Sean Stevens Writes: Sad to hear that Dino passed
away,,and yes his pizza was the
best..london,,nairobi,paris,hong kong..still the
best,,his brick(his love)oven was the best...and a
sweet cool guy..his best to his widow and family
YA GOTTO LOVE THIS COUNTRY!
Bob (Terrible Bob) wanted to charge the battery on his
new Beach Buggy over night but the maid unplugged the
charger. Bob asked why and she said, “It would be no
use wasting all that electricity nighttime”
My electrician said that “yes I have properly
connected the ground wire” when I asked him. Shit, was
I ever in for a surprise when I, nicely nude and wet
under the shower, touched the water pipe. Talk about
bright eyed and bushy tailed :)
