Moalboal February 2001
Hello People!!
Here comes another "chis miss" letter. I'd like to thank those of you that have sent me letters of appreciation of these letters. It's good to know that they are read, so here comes another year of Moalboal gossip.
WEATHER:
Even though the weather has not been the best, no one is complaining. Some days with overcast, some with sunshine and very few with heavy rain. All Sunday BBQ's have turned out all right.
ACTIVITIES:
BBQ's every Sunday. Soccer every Monday and Friday. Andy (and Susan) is back so you better look good playing. Performance less than what Pele could play, is not acceptable.
Mario, Mr. Guapo, has won the last 2 Thursday pool tournaments at Roxy. Bengt, ÿthe terrible Swedeÿ, is now back so Mario needs to play well the next Thursday.
BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:
Mark wanted to keep it secret for a while that Ai-Ai was pregnant but Jesper ÿthe Ferretÿ found out and put it in the Neptune newsletter. Mark was not really happy about that. But that's how it goes in this village. You fart in one end of the beach and 5 minutes later everyone will know about it. 20 days later though, during Mark's excellent 30th birthday/leaving/telling us that they are engaged and getting married party. Then they told us that Ai-Ai is pregnant.
Jesper's Lebeth is pregnant again.(Jesper is not that lazy sometimes)
We now know that Roland and Ruffa's Rodalena will arrive March 28th. Ok it's not a boy but I still think Roland should treat us to cigars then.
Lee and Jaylita are now married. They went the whole nine yards. Church wedding, 30 cases of beer, big dinner at Eveÿs, throw everyone in the pool and then disco at Chief Mau. May the two of you have a long life in harmony together.
Ino, Japanese instructor at Nelson's, had a big leaving party as well. We hope you will come back soon.
All the parties above were on the same week. This also with a small Swedish party: read lots of snaps and herring. So you can understand that my liver needs a rest.
Lee just made it back for a short visit. To check his motorcycle?? He's now working in Puerto Galera.
ACCORDING TO NELSON (our inside man into politics here):
After that concrete road from Moalboal to the new Smart teletower is done, there is money for another 600 meters. Now we know that election time is at least good for getting roads
