Moalboal 2008

Hi there, friends of Moalboal!!

I'm just sending out a short letter to let you know that the news
letter is not dead?.I'm just a bit lazy. I'm on a yacht in Sardinia
but got really exited to hear that there are manta rays at Pescadore.
Last time I heard of Manta was back in 1990. My first dive ever on
Pescador and I saw a manta. Later that week Dick took a ride on the
manta and it was never seen again. Talking about Dick, Nelsons sister
Lindy's son. I met Dick and his wife Katrine in Sweden this summer.
We drank moonshine together during the Swedish midsummer-festival.

They had a typhoon go through Cebu in June. That was way to
early??..but weather in the world is not what it used to be. 2 of Sea-
explorers boats sunk.

BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:

Queen X, Moalboal's 100Ft Mega Banka finally made it into the water.
Something many thought would never happen. I thought she would make
16 knots top-speed but actually made 19.9 knots????man, that's fast.
Banka boats are not really made to turn, straight forward and then
try to turn, is more like it. Many, including me, thought it would be
even harder for a Mega Banka to turn but she actually turns quite
well at half speed. Kasai Micke is already trying to rent her
for "Dive Safaris"

PRACTICAL:

There is now a list at the notice board in Chili Bar where you can
tell your friends to sign up for the newsletter. Or just have them
send me an e-mail.

Do you, just like me, have a hard time knowing the time in different

best web site I have come across.

The Philippine Peso got really strong last winter but is now getting
weaker : 1USD$ = 45.7 Php and 1 Euro = 72.7 Php

WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS:

To get the absolute latest whale shark sightings go to Chili Bar and
look at the notice board there. Anyone putting up a sighting receives
a free Ning-Ning drink.

Once you have taken a picture of your whale shark you should go to
http://www.whaleshark.org, they will register the shark.

GENERAL:

If anyone has any information that they think would be interesting
for people on this list, please do let me know and I will add it in.
