Moalboal 2007

Hi, friends of Moalboal!!

As I'm not in Moalboal I'm not really sure what's happening more than
from letters you write me. I'm writing this so we will not get booted
from Yahoo groups for inactivity. I'm planning to arrive the
Philippines in November with Chicago for some well deserved vacation.

Jesper at Neptune has just finished planting 50 mango trees in
Santander.

ACTIVITIES:

Moalboal Pool championship every Wednesday at Chili Bar. Starting
20:30

Jochen, Planet Action, is still making sure that there's soccer every
Monday and Friday up in Moalboal. If you want to play, just show up
16:30.

BIRTHS, SOCIAL AND GOSSIP:

Mike & Jeff have sold his bar, Gecko, in Cebu. Not sure who the new
owner is.

PRACTICAL:

There is now a list at the notice board in Chili Bar where you can
tell your friends to sign up for the newsletter. Or just have them
send me an e-mail.

A US dollar is now worth 45.7 Pesos
A Euro is now worth 62.3 Peso
A Pound is now worth 92.5 Peso

WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS:

To get the absolute latest whale shark sightings go to Chili Bar and
look at the notice board there. Anyone putting up a sighting receives
a free Ning-Ning drink.

LETTERS FROM ABROAD:

Hi Lars............or whoever is acting as editor in chief at
Moalboal Newsletter these days.

I just heard that old Jochens place has been demolished to make way
for some kind of resort development and it left me with a really sad
feeling.
'The Last Filling Station ' was part of the character of
Panagsama. It gave the place a charm that made regular visitors like
myself feel at home whether it was for a late breakfast, a homemade
lunch or maybe just an early evening drink with friends as we'd watch
the sun go down.
Jinkie and the girls added a great deal doing their jobs well and
being so friendly even if you were just passing by. Philippino
style I know but still worth saying.
Of course the ramshackle ' hut come bars' that spread out alongside
it did no favors to the scenery and few will mourn their passing,
but losing the ' Filling Station ' is a bit like losing an old
friend.

I'd like to say to my old ' adversary ' ............. and
friend ....... sorry Boss.......You'll just have to come up with
something new ........................your old
friend ...................jack.

YA GOTTO LOVE THIS COUNTRY!

Go to http://www.youtube.com and put in http://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=hMnk7lh9M3o
Or search for thriller. 1500 inmates in Cebu jail doing synchronized
dancing. MAN??..only in the Philippines.

for people on this list, please do let me know and I will add it in.
